Thank you ladies and gentlemen, PvP servers have left the building.
Just in case it’s not clear, the problem here is that you’re not supposed to be allowed to roll characters of the other faction once you pick a faction on a PvP server. To quote Dominion “They got Panda Attack in my PAA”
I’m sorry but this is just an outrage. I know half of WoW’s player base didn’t quit the game over this, but frankly I can’t understand why they didn’t.
Okay so, after some trials an tribulations, I finally managed to get WeGame’s recorder to record Starcraft, the first recorder I’ve gotten to work with Starcraft pretty much ever. As a result, I’ve made this video about a classic Starcraft rush – the 5 pool. Please feel free to watch and give me feedback on it. If you’d like to see more Starcraft tip videos from me, please let me know 🙂
Imagine Real Time Risk – taking place between viruses in peitry dishes where you get to customize your virus strain mission after mission so that it can be the strongest. If that sounds fun to you, then you should check out Phage Wars 2.
At the 2008 E3 I saw two games I couldn’t wait to play – Prototype and Darksiders:Wraith of War. Prototype has since come out, and turned to be better than I hoped it was. Now Darksiders will come out sometime this year as well, and I’m hoping this dark game manages to successfully meld God of War with The Legend of Zelda the way it looked like it would in E3 last year. I found this new trailer that rekindled my excitement for it, so I thought I’d share it. Enjoy!
Hey check out Kongregate with Heavy Weapons. This is another fun one, more of a top-down kill-them-all shooter, kinda like Geometry Wars with a dash of Ikaruga. I especially had fun playing this one with a Metroid remix by Arm Cannon playing in the background.
You may also note I’ve created a new Post category called “Flash games.” I’ve noticed with increased frequency I’ve been posting links to cool flash games, so I thought they deserved their own category. I’ve gone back through and moved appropriate posts to this category as well.
There’s been a lot of exciting announcements this year, but for me, nothing has me as facinated as Nintendo’s secret reveal yesterday: a new Metroid game that’s NOT a Metroid Prime game. Even Penny Arcade agrees that it’s pretty sweet. You don’t have to take my word for it though, watch the trailer yourself:
Work’s been slow lately. Rather than continue to drool over E3 news again and again, I decided to try and force myself to do some original web design work (Since work doesn’t really ask me to design anymore) using some Art I lifted from the D&D4 site. You can view the results below:
I got to spend time with some cousins that it felt like I hadn’t seen in ten years over the holiday. While visiting with them we stopped by Canada for a dinner, and stopped a resturant called “East Side Mario’s.” It’s an italian joint that got me hooked on Ceasar Salads so I’m a fan. But you don’t have to take my word on it, just check out the writing on the door:
This time I have some games for you all. Lately I’ve been playing flash games at Kongregate. It’s been around awhile I know, but it seems a nice place to find some good flash games. I don’t have an account yet (and the community’s over population with tween-aged chat-addicts is what stops me from getting one), but I could see the benefits to one – It’s like having XBL with Achievements for Flash games. it’s pretty neat.
Anyway, here’s my favorites so far:
Don’t look back: And engrossing low-tech platformer with an interesting twist or two and good music. The ending will either make you scratch your head or scream WTF. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Crush the Castle: Simple but addictive fun. You control a trebuche and you need to kill all the rebel lords, ladies, and knights by knocking their own castles down on top of them. This one you can beat in a long sitting, but it’s still lots of fun.
Gemcraft: Another tower defense game but this one works quite differently. It’s another path-based one instead of mazing (which is a bummer) but it’s unique mechanic makes up for it IMO. In this game you build towers, but you also put magic gems in the towers to make them go. The color of the gem determines how much damage it does and what kind of effect it has. To improve the tower, you must fuse gems together to get more powerful gems. Also the game uses mana to fuel not just gem creation and building towers, but also to banish monsters that make it to the end of the path. So instead of only being able to allow 20 monsters, so long as you have enough mana to banish a monster it get sent back to the start, and different monsters cost different mana to banish. Tons of stages and level up options make it something to come back to IMO.
