Something to keep an eye on all you 360 owners:
Monday Night Combat strikes me as an interesting mix of UT2003's "Professional Wrestling" take on competitive shooters mixed with a dash of TF2's personality - all in wonderful third person, also jetpacks. Think it has potential.

Though looking at this reminds me how I want to keep an eye out for a Global Agenda free trial.

So, According to Tycho's latest newspost on Penny Arcade, this game is going to be a MOBA like DOTA and LoL?

A third person shooter MOBA... interesting... Now I think I have to get this when it comes out for XBL.

Confirmed by this trailer, Monday Night Combat for XBL will be a fusion of TF2 and MOBAs (think LoL or DoTA). The map highlighted in particular reminds me greatly of Twisted Treeline from LoL.

I have a strong feeling I'll be picking this up for my xbox when it drops.

Well I have MNC and I've played it a few times. For those of you still on the fence on it I'll say it like this.

If you like third person shooters and are a fan of either DotA/LoL and/or Tower Defense, there's no way you won't get your $15 of entertainment out of this game.

I'm not convinced it'll hook its teeth into you for months and months on end like LoL or your favorite Tower Defense game will, but it's still a solid, polished, and deep game.

My only gripe is that while class design seems varied and balanced for "Crossfire" mode (the DotA mode), certain classes very much outshine others in "Blitz" (the tower Defense) mode. Gunners, Tanks, and Supports will get a lot more mileage than Snipers and Assassins who will find their squishy forms having issue with that large bots a waves since they're very built for winning engagements against single strong targets. That being said, they aren't useless in the mode - I feel most capable of taking down Jackbots (think super minions on steroids) as an assassin than any other class.

I started downloading the demo last night after we played a few rounds while I was at Mark's. Not sure if I'll pick up the game or not. It didn't really hook me last night, but then I didn't get to try more than two modes. We'll see how much I like the demo.

I'm not sure if the Demo includes Crossfire mode, I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Really, next time you're at Mark's you should have him let you play Crossfire. That mode has a much longer life span than Blitz IMO since it's all 6on6 objective based pvp and all.

I watched him do a little of that last night while I was copying stuff to his hard drive and folding laundry. Still not sure if I'm interested.

Crossfire is definitely the meat and potatoes of MNC. Blitz is a fun alternative but is not the go-to mode. It's essentially the bot-stomp of the game (Eye c wut I did thar). Once you get used to it and have the full 6 people though I get the impression that playing it on the hardest version could be silly fun and a blast. But yeah, Crossfire is where you'll be spending more time. I think the demo lets you play a round or two of Crossfire but I have no idea. When you come over next Tim we could play it together or you can just play on your own since I know the split-screen felt a little cramped with all the insane stuff going on, even with the big TV.

Definitely enjoying the game and totally worth the $15. While I agree it's mostly balanced, I feel like the sniper needs a boost to something. I don't see many people playing him and while his abilities work I don't feel like they mesh together well. Then again, you're a sniper. You hide, zoom out and shoot. That's why people play snipers.

So far my favorite classes are support and tank. Support cause it's a nice mesh of the TF2 medic and engineer and hacking turrets just makes them awesome. Tank cause you just OWN close combat. Which I'm a little back and forth on. I feel like that's the assassin's job but I've had multiple times where I've had two assassin's on me and if my health is at full, I take one of their "backstabs" and have enough health left to whirlwind (I don't know what else to call it) and then charge them and they both die. I guess lesson is that assassin's are kings of cc but stay away from full health tanks.

HEY GUYS!  This game is FREE TO PLAY this weekend on STEAM and you should TOATLLY DO THAT.  If enough of us like it, it's only $10 on Steam until Monday and this could be another game we can add to our Gamenight Rotation.

Class based Shooter action in a MOBA (Think LoL) style gameplay.  Really TF2 + DotA is a pretty solid way to think of the game.
