HEY YOU GUYS.  So in thinking things over it occurred to me that people might want to be able to co-ordinate play dates with other members of Game Knights on not Wednesday, but we really don't have an efficient/effective way or place of doing that.   So I thought what I'd do is start a topic in the forums for us to use to plan games on whatever days you want to.  This may even afford us planned gaming sessions like a organized co-op play-through of something, say Magicka, or a Guild Wars campaign, or just plan a run at some game some of us, but not all of us, have, like Mass Effect 3.

On that note, this is not a D&D week for me and Kitty is off to Anime Club so I have an open Thursday.   Any one up for Guild Wars?  Tim and I still need to keep working through Nightfall, and I can't help but notice my Ele is able to do the Zaishen Bounty, Mission, and Vanquish today (in hard mode even if we so desire).

If not I might be up for other things too.  If you see me on Steam playing a single player game, bop me a message and I'll probably be up for Guild Wars, Starcraft II, or Mass Effect 3.

Tonight I will be drinking fairwell to the other sysadmin at my work. No idea when I'll be home. If I make it in time then I'm definitely up for things! Though I'll probably be drunk.

Who's up for ME3 tonight? I've been terribly preoccupied with other stuff this week so hardly any gaming and I'm gone this weekend to visit family in Michigan. Would like to get some gaming in before then. If not, I'll just play more single player.

Apparently this weekend, this thing is happening in Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer.  This strikes me as all the more reason to try and sneak some time in with it.  Though I don't know what "promoting a character to Single Player" is...

Anyway yeah I'm game.  I'll probably be home and up for gaming a little after 6pm eastern.

When a character hits level 20, you can 'promote' them, which resets the class in multiplayer to Level 1, but raises your N7 rating by 10, allowing you to keep raising your rating.

It also adds to the N7 Special Ops war asset in single player, but I'm not sure by how much, and if it adds to all playthroughs.

Sooooo if i promote my level 20 soldier to single player, I lose him and I lose my only silver-capable character?  That doesn't sound worth it at all.  Does it just reset that guy or does reset ALL of my multiplayer soldiers?

I would imagine (and this is what it sounds like from most folks)  that it's just the one soldier. I'd think if you wanted to you could promote one of your soldiers if you have two level 20 soldiers since then you'd have at least one high leveled to have fun with.

Okay that would make more sense.  As class level is tied to all of your characters of that class I could make a new solider (like a female human one instead of male) and keep playing at the play level I was at. But then what's to stop me from repeatedly promoting since they effectively start level 20?

I'll stop worrying about it until I get home and can test it out.  Point is, either way, BioWare has given us a reason to want to play ME3 multi this weekend when we can.

Your levels are the same across all races in a class. If you have a level 20 Soldier, all your Soldiers are level 20, you just need to assign points. If you promote your character, ALL your races end up back on Level 1.

So other than raising your N7 rating in MP and a War Asset in SP, yeah, there's no real reason to promote characters.

Wait I'm confused. I acquired a turian soldier and he was level 3 while my other human soldiers are level 1. Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly.
