Yes.  That video I attached says that KesPA was at the meetings.  I didn't know what KesPA was before you said that though so now it makes sense.  I think it's safe to say they worked some sort of deal.

IronSquid has posted video of the TSL Symbol vs NesTea game.  Holy.  Crap this is epic ZvZ.  It renders TotalBiscut and dApollo more than once.

(match 1 starts somewhere around 6:30.)

(Skip to 1:03:0 for game 4)

Article on Kotaku today about how the Zerg resemble real Earth insects.  Haven't given it a read yet and I imagine it will play out like "Yes, the people are Blizzard are actually smart and did their homework," but I figured those of you who like the Zerg and/or bugs, would enjoy reading it.

So after a long, long long hiatus, I finally decided to dust of my fencer's gloves and try my hand at some SC2 ladder. Played my first two placement games.

The good news is, four seasons have really helped Blizzard (IMO) in this regard. Rather than having a bunch of somewhat-un-ranked opponents, they paired me against a bronze, then a silver, both of whom were not the absolute top or bottom of their division and with a reasonable number of poitns . . . implying they played often enough to have a stable ranking.

1st match: ZvP

God I am rusty! I had ~400 minerals sitting in the bank pretty early on due to having no good build and rusty mechanics. Regardless, I scouted my opponent's base after a fast expand to discover an early stargate warping in. Expecting Void Ray cheese, I macroed up with ~20 drones on 2 bases (30 is considered the cap of what you should fill to), and built 4 queens. Then I started poking with zerglings. Then I just won with zerglings since all my opponent had was a single stalker and a void ray.

Who says that you need good macro/micro to win in the ladder? :P!

2nd match: ZvZ

Now, I only remember the nightmare days of ZvZ. Back where any even marginally creative idea or build that you attempted would be crushed by the opponent who went 1-base lings. All-in 1 base lings, not so much. But god help you if you expand! And then after lings? more lings. And if you both did that and were still even? More lings and *maybe* some banes! And then? Switch to lair and pray to god you survive long enough to crank out mutas.

Ironically? That's precisely the way I played here. It was a miserably hard match. My ~16 lings crashing into his 6-8 timing pushed roaches. But I managed a good surround in mid map, killed about half his roaches with half my lings, then ran the rest of them back to his base. Two waves of lings later I had managed to kill ~8 drones or so (IIRC). . . but then he dug in his heels. From there it was a long, long LONG match of me poking but accomplishing nothing.

I teched to mutas, but he had so much anti-air in that tiny little base I couldn't do much with them. And then ~8 minutes later after I had macroed up hard and had some roaches + 10ish mutas. . . he somehow had like twice as many!

But that's where I learned from my mistake. Preparing for his inevitable counter I just pumped straight mutas, relying on my standing ground forces to hold off whatever he sent on the ground. It worked. I cleared his mutas with an ~8 muta lead. And from there I just continued to macro up mutas with rare ling-harass for when he was too dedicated to anti-air. He surrendered a while later.

Two down, three to go. And thusfar two wins :). . . but man I'm not even a shadow of what I used to be at this game.

AZUBU viOlet tears down EG ThorZaIN's Terran Mech play through his own unique brand of macro play.  Interesting match.

Attached also for your enjoyment are the other two matches of the set.

Submitted for your enjoyment:  Bunker Rush... wait no... those are spine crawlers...

So yeah... Spine Crawler Rush?

EDIT: Bonus for your consideration - TvZ, MMA vs Nercho, 30 minutes of epic back and forth.  Ultralisks.  Sick Drops.  Brood lords.  A solid game.

I'm gonna install SC2 and give Starcraft Universe a try. Will post my thoughts/feedback after I've tried it out.

*EDIT*: So, sidetracked but I just opened the thing up. They've changed the splash screen with Human Kerrigan, menus, and entire online play system. Including having an unranked "matchmaker" mode to play games PvP without the whole pressure of leagues/permanent stats  :). Good stuff all around, if a tad confusing.

*O_O* Okay, WOW; where to even begin? They've totally overhauled this stuff and I must say Blizzard, I am very impressed.

So I mentioned the unranked matchmaker and such last time, but they've introduced a nice rework of the vs AI games too. Now, when you start playing, you'll do 3 placement matches after which you'll be ranked against computer AI's that try to match your skill level. And I recognize that I'm not as good as I used to be what with not having played in a long time and all . . .

. . . but these AI's are *good*.

Like, really good. Like much, much better than I remember them being. They aren't just all-in 1-pushing like they used to. They will do a probe from time to time, but they scout, secure bases and defend them (somewhat) fluidly, build good anti-mutalisk turrets to cover their supply lines and use viking/rine/medivacs to repel harassment, etc. Medium and easy difficulties are still pretty straightforward and all, but Hard difficulty? Let's just say that I've never lost to a Hard AI in a 1v1 until yesterday.

And then there's still 'Harder' 'Very Hard' and 'Elite' to work my way up to in the vs AI queue. I'm certain a good part of this is just me being rusty and map design and all; but I managed a 1v2 vs Hards before, which I'm not convinced I could do against these guys.

Even that first game that I won vs hards (a ZvZ) they were pulling a few interesting tactics including a nice baneling -> muta build that took my mass-roach off-guard. If I hadn't gotten a lucky timing push with roaches when they still had too few mutas to make a difference, I'm not convinced I woulda survived his next harass. Anyway, if you haven't played SC2 in a while and still are interested in the game, I can definitely recommend giving the AI or the unranked matchmaker queue another try as they've definitely spruced things up.
Or, ya'know, just wait for HotS.

The idea of having an AI ladder of sorts to climb would give me an objective after I beat the campaign when HotS comes out, so that at least sounds interesting.  I'm not sure that I'm going to even try it until I have HotS though.  Collector's Edition pre-ordered so I'll just wait until I have that to even load up SC2 again I think.

Kinda bummed about the SC2:WoL plot point becoming something on the front page of the UI.  I guess it is fair that one has had two years to beat WoL at this point but it is a bummer to anyone who was holding back on SC2.
