How about an Impulse ID section?

Edit:And how about adding L4D and L4D2 to the games list?

Second Edit:Oh yeah, and if you want alt tags included with images could you put the html code for that in the allowed tags section? I don't know it and am going to be far too lazy to look it up every time I want to post an image =P

Third Edit: Also just to let you know I appear to have to use the br / tag in order to get line returns, just hitting enter doesn't appear to work.

First point: Will do, but did you know that all users can add games to the database? You can add it yourself :)

Second point:Point taken. I've added new instructions to the add a post page per your request.

Third point:So it would seem. I've added support for the <p> tag to make making paragraphs easier. In the end though I am beginning to think I'm going to need to plug a Javascript-based WYSIWYG editor into this system. Would that be better than hand coding?

We can add games ourselves? Oh awesome, I'ma go figure that out now.

As for coding things by hand, I don't mind it since you've got good instructions on tags, but if adding such a javascript plugin would be a good learning procedure for you then I'd say that's the important part.

Sorry to ask for more stuff again already, but any chance of adding a "Remember Me" option so we don't have to log in every time we visit the site?

Hmm. I'll have to do some research on how "remember me" things work. I know it involves a cookie, but right now any cookies this site generates are destroyed at log out.

I'll do some research and get back to you on that one. Until then I hope it's not too annoying to login.

As for the WYSIWYG editor, there's a pretty global one called Tiny MCE that even Wordpress uses. I helped our developers at work drop it into a couple of our applications before so if I can go digging for that code I might be able to add it. The only problem with it is it does use javascript so you no-scripters out there will have to turn it on. Additionally I'll have to make sure I like the code it outputs, but I'm pretty sure it outputs nice code from what I remember.

machvergil.com already had full script running permissions on my box. So don't you go putting any malicious scripts in here! I'm trusting you. =P

If we can get one or two more people to state a preference for a WYSIWYG editor, I'll go ahead and add it to my to do list then. I'll make sure that when you have script turned off it defaults back down to the current post input.

On a slightly unrelated note, how badly would people like to be able to embed YouTube videos?

I could care less about videos but that's me. A few requests. Small things but as they say the small things count.

One, could we have some sort of icon or color change or something to indicate what messages are new since our last visit? I can't always remember the exact time I visited last and if there's a bunch of posts I tend not to catch all the new ones especially if they were close to the last time I visited.

Second, not as much of a desired feature but might help with the first issue and several times easier to implement, think we could have a count of how many posts are in a topic? Nothing super important, just something nice to see.

Third, again not a huge thing just something minor, while in a topic could the button be 'reply' instead of 'post'? Maybe it's just me crashing around too many message boards but 'new post' indicates to me more of a new topic thread rather then a reply. Minor semantics thing ;)

WOOOO I love feedback! Okay let me start from the top

From Misharum:

Sorry to ask for more stuff again already, but any chance of adding a "Remember Me" option so we don't have to log in every time we visit the site?

You do now! Please please please stress test it and tell me if you run into any issues!

Okay second issue:

From Dominion:

One, could we have some sort of icon or color change or something to indicate what messages are new since our last visit? I can't always remember the exact time I visited last and if there's a bunch of posts I tend not to catch all the new ones especially if they were close to the last time I visited.

Second, not as much of a desired feature but might help with the first issue and several times easier to implement, think we could have a count of how many posts are in a topic? Nothing super important, just something nice to see.

I will admit, a "new post" indicator was something I didn't do because I was more worried about getting a message board up and running at all. I'm not 100% sure how I'm going to do that with out the database is currently configured, but damn it, I will try. I will keep you posted on how that goes.

A post counter should be much easier. Should be.

From Dominion: Third, again not a huge thing just something minor, while in a topic could the button be 'reply' instead of 'post'? Maybe it's just me crashing around too many message boards but 'new post' indicates to me more of a new topic thread rather then a reply. Minor semantics thing ;)

You got it. I'll fix it as soon as I'm done with this post.EDIT: How's 'New Reply'?

And please guys, tell me what you think, from the really big to the really small. I'm trying my best to put on a all-smiles, not defensive, support face for this site and I want it to be everything we want it to be and more. Anything from the real minor to the big picture, let me know. I can't promise I'll do it all, or that I'll do it soon, but damn it I can at least try!
