Most days of the week only a handful of folks show up on our Server.  We're often not playing games together, just hanging out and chatting.  6 days of the week that's fine, I don't want to change it.  However, on Wednesday, defaulting to Voice Lobby is an obstruction to being able to conduct the event itself.  While people in are Voice Lobby we don't know who is playing games, what they are playing, and who is just hanging out to chat.

Going forward I want to propose the following rule: During Wednesday Night Game Night ONLY, if you are playing a game with anyone else on chat you MUST move to another channelIf someone wants to chat with folks playing a game, they are to move to the channel those people are in.  They also must acknowledge that Game-Relevant Chatter takes priority over conversation while the game is active in that channel. This rule's effect ends at 12pm eastern or when the occupied number of people left on the server drops below 5, whichever happens first.

It is my hope that this will help people better organize matches, while also making it clear to everyone that if you are in Voice Lobby, you're good to idle witty banter with folks. It also means you're also not in a group yet and may be recruited for games (though you might not actually be available - I don't want to bar folks just coming to socialize from coming to Game Night anymore).

Again - this rule would only apply during Game Night.

In general, I'm okay with this and willing to give it a go. Games like League, Duck Game, Rocket League, and Paladins do totally dominate the channel when they are being played.

It also has the added benefit of making sure the channel is clear for game-comms.  Right now if the first 5 folks who show up start playing LoL and need to communicate "top missing" it might get drowned out in 3 salutations and other greetings from people just showing up and can be disruptive to the actual playing of the game.  Likewise it's not fair to folks not in game that they cannot talk to others just because a game is going on.  Moving the game to another channel helps alleviate both of these issues.
