Yeah this game is really starting to sink it's teeth into me.

Additionally, I am watching a recording of the live show on XFire from Friday where they show off the next new Champion. He's a plate-wearing knight with no secondary energy whose all about justice and stuff, personality wise in opposition to Katarina (current fav). I think I want this guy when he comes out O_O

Edit: Oh crap I missed first time I watched this but apparently they teased at one of his alternate skins to which the developer said "I don't know if any of you have played Warhammer 40k, but there's a faction in it called the Blood Angels..."

O_O SOLD

Found This post on the forums that might help to solve some mechanics questions. I know it helped me understand a few things.

After last night's games I'm feeling both a sense of excitement and dread. I want to figure out what it will take to actually win games of this vs people, but I'm not sure that I want to if it comes at the expense of having to play Champions I don't want to. Favorite character(s) not being viable in PvP is a huge part of why I gave up on WoW after all.

This thread has a list of guides for all champs as far as I can see. Could be quite useful.

This Taric guide just made my morning. A sample:
So basically: R > E > W. That’s like REW, which probably means something totally baller. All in all, Imbue is probably only there to balance out the awesome that is R > E> W because otherwise Taric’s hammer would be no mere diamond hammer anymore, it would have the color of deep ****ing crimson.

I imagine this guide being read by M.C. Chris or something.

I was thinking I should log in and turn off the profanity filter but that shit is far more hilarious to read with it on. Asterisks everywhere! XD

Sometimes "bleep" is funnier than the word it's covering up...

Oh, also new thing I learned today, apparently once you get past level 10, you only can earn XP/IP from practice games 4 times per 24 hour period (source - LoL Knowledge Base), which explains why I've seen -100% on those lately.

So I just read this guide to how to pre-made. It was a fun guide and had some interesting insight on when to do what and how to read your foes. I suggest anyone interested in doing a full organized team vs people in LoL give it a quick read.

An example:

Ok Ok You say mid is so important, but why should I believe you?

Mid is the shortest lane. Which means more minions reach that lane, since all lanes have the same minion spawn time.

So if you, say push mid to the inhibitor, you have a substantially larger amount of minions entering their base from middle then Top or Bot. Which means more damage to their towers AND it means they HAVE to defend.

So, doesn't that just give them more gold?

Yes.

But if only 1 person is defending their nexus that means you are free to take your 4 other teammates and push any other tower you want.

Which means they either 4V5 and hope they win. Or they try and 5V5 and hope minions don't take down turrets or hope that someone doesn't just walk up there and destroy them themselves.

Okay, well we got middle inhib, just like you said. Now we push other lanes?

That depends. Did you just have a team fight?

Yes.

Obviously you won, and obviously the enemy is more or less dead?

Obviously.

Push NEXUS TURRETS.

You mean don't run all the way to top/bottom and push those?

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN.

If you can take down even 1 Nexus turret; you have practically already won the game.

This means they have to defend. No matter what, and it likely means a damage dealer has to defend becuase they have to kill super minions fast enough to keep the last standing nexus turret alive.

That means guaranteed team fight victories as long as super minions approach the nexus.

I also found this less fun to read, but even more informative guide on Twisted Treeline and how playing on it is very different from the normal 5v5. Example:

Twisted Treeline games are incredibly short. Normal 5 man matches in Dota/Lol follow the traditional phases of: 1) Lane Phase 2) Ganking Phase 3) Pushing/Teamfight Phase. Depending on your team's strategy and hero composition, the times of these phases can vary. Twisted Treeline takes these traditional phases and throws a wrench into your plans. Lane Phase is is combined with both the ganking and pushing/teamfight phase, and it's not uncommon to see 3 man ganks in minute one. "Late" game usually officially begins by minute 15-20.
So, what does this mean? Less time to farm means less money. Not only do you get less TIME to farm, but the time you do have is often interrupted by 3 man pushes that you have to defend, or 3 man ganks that send you back to base.

So after a frustrating day of waiting for the servers to come on line, them coming online, but then disabling practice games, to finally being able to play the champion I paid for, I have the following announcement.

Ahem...

Garen is a Space Marine. League of Legends over, Garen Wins.

Seriously though, in my third practice game I built him for raw damage. My item build was Berzerker's Greaves, last whisper, Brutalizer -> the new Youmuu's Ghostblade, Infinity edge. I had a 1.3 attack speed and dealt 200+dmg per auto attack, my crits exceeding 600. I ate bots, turrets, and nexuses for lunch. Even without a single HP item, my ending HP total was still 2400 or so with Armor and magic resist approaching or exceeding 100 by level 18. Durability gets even better if I actually build for HP with things like Warmog's.

Is Garen more fun than Katarina? I'd say yes just because he's easier, but I don't think he'd give the kind of smug satisfaction I get from ganking someone with Kat. That being said, Garen is without a doubt overall more viable. Be prepared to see him in nearly every game, he is the new Ashe.

So in short, I plan to run with him from now on, but I want to keep my Katarina game viable just in case we end up with a pugger who snags him first.
