So I'm sure you've already heard the PC version of the latest Arkham series, is pretty terrible on PC.  Port issues are so bad that WB has pulled sales of the PC version until the issues are resolved. I don't know if you were planning picking this game up for PC, but you should maybe wait.

Here's TB's port report for more information.

Regarding the game itself depending on who you ask the game is either perfect, a weaker entry, or somewhere in the middle.

Also, before you're sold on the game because of playable Harley Quinn DLC, it sounds pretty weak.

Was a huge fan of the original Arkham Asylum. City was enjoyable but never bothered with Origins and with the crap around Knight I don't think I'll be revisiting the series anytime soon. Sounds like it could be fun once everything is fixed but with the mess on release I don't feel like giving them money for it.

Also would like to say I'm kinda sad they've kept with the more open world gameplay. They added it in City and while it was enjoyable, I found Asylum's layout to be more enjoyable due to the more restricted area and gave it a more Metroidvania feel to it.

QFT.  Asylum is one of my favorite games ever and City, while overall okay, was no where near one of my favorite games ever.  I was frustrated and bored enough by City to make me not want to play anymore of the games.  When Polygon's 10/10 hit I was thinking maybe I should give Knight another look, but given the PC issues, nope, still gonna pass.

As long as I'm postponing sleep and trolling the forums, i felt I might as well make a post here.

Disclaimer: I have not actually played Arkham Knight, in any format.

Since I did not pre-order it, I enjoyed a good laugh when the pc port was so terrible that they actually stopped selling the game. Several months after they pulled the sale of the pc version, they finally re-released it, after addressing the performance issues. From what I've heard, it's still not OMG SO BOOTEEFULL, but it's much improved. As long as having the prettiest game isn't your most important need, the reviews have praised the story and gameplay, etc.

I enjoyed Asylum and City. Origins was developed by a different team, and while it had some fun open world Batman combat, it never really matched either of the previous games. I also agree that the layout in Asylum felt very appropriate and Batman-y. However, the combat in City was much more enjoyable because of the increased variety. Both games have a challenge mode where you fight endless waves of baddies, and I've spent too many hours in the City because of the enemies and moves.

Final word: I rate Arkham Knight a ?/5, because I haven't played it, but would like to. I'll get it when it's on sale someday.
