Everything he said!

The only things to add that I can think of are that you can increase your poison resist with various armors and a couple weapons/shields.  Lighter armor seems to usually have more poison resist.  The gargoyle weapons increase your resistances, as does the Bloodshield and the Spider shield also has extra poison resist on it as I recall.

The resistances don't prevent you from getting poisoned, but they do make the bar bigger, so you might be able to get to the sandbar/pillars without getting fully poisoned.

As as Mark said, just keep purple moss on you quick use list.  The crazy lady in the bridge sells it and the expensive flowering purple moss for toxic.

Toxic fucking sucks.

Pretty sure there's a short cut somewhere too that gets you back to the beginning areas. I think you had to travel through a portion of Drake Valley but so long as you avoid the sleeping dragon you should be able to survive running through it.

...FUCK. I spent two days getting lost on my way back up through Blighttown before eventually getting back out.

OKAY STATUS UPDATE (much Excite)

  • Demon Queen fire spider is dead!
  • 2nd Bell Rung!
  • Fire keeper dead (sad face)
  • Met Frampt!  (Happy face)
  • Asshole from Firelink Shrine dead (idiot rolled himself off a cliff.  HI-LARIOUS)

So uh now what?  I have a few options but I'm not clear.

  1. I wanna get the fire keeper back. I have the orb that says it will let me invade to get her killer, but it doesn't seem to work?  When/how do I use it?
  2. Frampt said something about Londo, but then he also said something else about Sen's Fortress.  Where do I head first?  The Londo Ruins under the Firelink Shrine?  Or through the open gates in Undead Parish?

First of all: Well Done!

Unfortunately there's a long while before you can get her back.  Couple of areas to complete before you get to the place you can invade the asshat who killed her - also you have to be in human form to invade, just as a heads up.  Speaking of which I think you're wrong about killing the guy who killed her.  The guy who kills her is the Golden armored guy you might have released from prison.  The guy you probably killed (down in the New Londo Ruins?) after ringing the second bell is the Crestfallen Warrior - the first guy you meet upon arriving at Firelink.

In any case, the next step is to Sen's Fortress!  It is the heavily trapped and guarded fortress that you must pass through in order to reach the City of the Gods Anor Lando.  Sens Fortress is the Gate that opened close to cool Blacksmith Andre of Astoria - where Onionbro was sitting.

You have to get through Sen's Fortress and almost all of Anor Londo (but NOT all  since I don't think you can invade him if you've killed the boss there?) before you can get Firelink lady back.

Ps. There's another hidden illusory wall bonfire in the rooms beyond fire demon lady.  It has one of the gross bug guys and her sister - but they're not hostile, so don't kill them!  He'll even teach you shit if you jump through some hoops, and she offers you a covenant that gives you really nice pyromancies if you feed her humanity.

Yeah I always meant the Crestfallen Warrior.  If my post sounds otherwise that's my fault for not being clearer.

Also thanks for the guidance!  I dunno if I'm going to worry about going back to these siblings over by Quellag (or however you spell it) in Blight Town right now, but maybe later.  I'll check out Sen's Fortress after I get back from things this weekend.

I think you're basically at where I've left off now! I was going to go through Sen's Fortress next.

That's where I left off too. Maybe I should swing back and give it a try again too.

Just at the boss to Sen's Fortress right now. The trick is being cautious and making it to the bonfire higher up in the fortress. It's tricky to find, but I don't want to post any guides because spoilers.

This is the mod Tya and I use to play Dark Souls MP together. Standard DS rules apply, soapstone, etc. etc, but you're almost guaranteed to pop in in each other's game if you both use the mod and the instructions provided.

Just wanted to say Vergil and I tried that program in Ren's post and it worked really well! Was super fun to finally be running around together since we're basically at the same spots. We helped each other take down Ornstein and Smough (sadly Vergil died on my fight before the end so didn't get souls). The fight is so much easier when you can 3 man it between a summoned player, Solaire, and yourself. Super happy I can warp between bonfires now. I'm gonna poke my head in some new areas and begin humanity farming so we can hopefully get around to summoning each other more. Also I finally went back and got poison arrows because apparently everyone and their mom suggests them in any tough fight I'm in.
