I am on call for the 16th, so while I'll be up for games, it would need to be something I could briefly handle a phone call during.

So - I do hope to make game night this week (Hurray - showing up at least on my birthday :P). There's a game that I'd like to try playing with the group that is primarily an in-person party game of social deduction called "One Night Ultimate Werewolf". In the game, players are assigned roles that are either on the evil team (Werewolf) or the Good team (Villager/Seer, etc.). After a 'night phase' where players secretly execute their role actions, there is a free discussion phase for 5-10 minutes and then a vote for whom to kill. If any werewolf is killed, evil team loses and good team wins. If on the other hand, there is no wolf killed then the evil team wins and the good team loses.

Much like Mafia/Werewolf/Assassins, I foresee the possibility of issues with many people trying to talk at once in Discord during the discussion phase as well as the loss of "face to face" interaction for clues and reading of the situation. But I still think there is potential here.Unlike classic Werewolf, each game takes

I went ahead and threw together a rough-implementation on Roll20 (invite link). For those not familiar with it, Roll20 is free to register and does NOT verify your e-mail address so you can use a fake one for ease of account creation. For those curious here is a PC version of the App-Narrator[I recommend running it with 2 wolves, a robber, a troublemaker, a seer, and a villager - the most basic roles from the original game).

The other thought I had was Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed for some good ole-fashioned "Kart racing". Of our group only a few of us have it (Haldon, MonkeyLord, Myself, Machvergil, Arcanum.Zero). I also have a brother in law and another relative who have the game as well as my friend Tom who has joined us on occasion. On the one hand I'm hesitant to invite 'outsiders' to our Wed night game night. On the other hand having ~5-8 players for kart racing adds to the madcap fun of it all.

Also, none of them might be around or up for it. If it comes up maybe I could throw up a random discord channel NOT on our private game night server as they are easy enough to make. But that's getting ahead of myself.

Actually - thinking about it logically - would be really good to try to test this environment out with two other people before game night to work through the flaws which I'm sure it will have and/or learn the stumbling blocks so I can more easily teach the system in a short timespan.

Let me know if the One Night Ultimate Werewolf sounds interesting and / or you wanna help me test it out.

I don't want to stop you from doing what you want to do on the Birthday game night because that's the point of it - to let you call what you want to play.

That said I am a little bit worried about trying to play something that is clearly suited for tabletop/in-person play.   Not saying we can't do it, but I think Sonic Racing would be a stronger suggestion.

That said if you're still committed to this idea let's give it a shot.

As an addendum: if you are looking to get people to play something like "Murder" in a video game context, There is mod for Garry's Mod that recreates, to some extent, that idea in a first person steam game.  Markiplier and his friends have played it on more than one occasion

I'm in for either Werewolf (even if you just want to playtest) or for Sonic Racing (assuming my computer will run the silly thing this week).

The Werewolf thing sounds like there could be issues IMO. However I lack Sonic Kart racing so if Werewolf is what you want to try I can try it.

Nate and I will be late secondary to house viewings.  I am on call for tomorrow, so may not be up for a lot of things.  We will see!
