Good Old Games has started something called their "Bundleoplis Sale," with new bundles every 6 hours.  Might wanna check it out if you're looking to pick up a bunch of games on the cheap.

They've now revealed all the bundles on GoG.Com. That Bethesdia shooter one with all the DOOM games is kinda tempting after J and I's talk about it on Wednesday.

For any of you tempted by the Steam Star Wars sale, I want to make an effort to encourage you to look at GoG's instead. This is because when you buy a classic game on Steam they provide nothing to help you run it on modern machines, where as GoG provides you with custom exe files that bake in emulators (like DOS box) to make sure it runs well on first pass.

In addition to a bunch of great deals (Original Master of Orion 1&2 for $2!  X-WING & TIE-FIGHTER for $5 each!), there are a few free games you can claim by trying out GOG Galaxy including System Shock 2.  Might be worth taking a look if you're hungry for some classics.

Also some sales on newer games:

  • Darkest Dungeon: $17
  • Galactic Civilizations 3: $13.50
  • Renowned Explorers : $10
  • Jotun: $7.50
  • Hotline Miami 1: $1.50.  Hotline Miami 2: $4.99

It would appear I have somehow ended up with an extra copy of System Shock 2.  Anyone want a GoG.Com copy of System Shock 2?

Anybody looking to boost up their collection of Homeworld games, GoG.COM has a god sale on the series right now.

It's a similar sale on Steam, but GoG's includes the Homeworld: Emergence campaign.

There's a sale on GoG right now; some free stuff and some good discounts.

Also, I think I'm going to try to move away from Steam for a while.  Their recent decisions about curation might destroy the service, but they probably won't, or they might give the alt-right a powerful platform, but they probably won't... mostly I just expect to see a substantial downturn in quality and it's already hard enough to find good things on Steam.  I don't think Steam is going apocalyptic, but I'm still doing some transitioning over to GoG just in case.

My decision has been vindicated in part by the fact that apparently GoG lets you import certain games from Steam, now?  It works like a sale, with the roster of available games rotating as time passes, so you might want to keep an eye on this feature if only because it is always better to own something in two places than in one.

Son of a bitch it's all quaggan backpacks!
