I was talking about this last night and figured I'd put an update here. First, as far as I know, everyone that I personally knew there is safe, and that's the most important part. Some of them know they lost their house already which is horrible, and there are others that don't know the extent of the damage, which is also bad. Tyndall AFB has announced that much of the main base is demolished or heavily damaged which I've seen video of, and that ALL of housing has at LEAST damage to the roofs. A couple of people I worked with are on the base recovery team and have also said that the base is in bad shape. I had one friend in Mexico Beach who'd evacuated and is fine, but knows her Apartment/Condo was destroyed. Mexico Beach was probably the hardest hit location. It's pretty much gone now. The storm surge basically put it under 1 story of water and it was about 10 minutes from my work. I don't know what the area I worked at looks like at this point, but I feel like it can't be great. My facebook feed is surreal today going back and forth between Tyndall/Panama City/Mexico Beach people and people making normal posts of memes or their kids or happy things.

A friend of mine who lived nearby and was probably looking for info on her own house noticed my house there near the end of a video/feed that she found of someone walking down my street. That should be set to the "best" shot of my house. She only briefly goes past it, but it looks intact. She also goes back for like half a second later somewhere around 650. The tree in my front yard looks like it's half gone, but that's incredibly minor. I don't know for sure if there is or isn't any internal damage or anything to the back or the fence (I'm honestly just assuming the fence is screwed. It wasn't in the best shape before.) or anything, but it looks like I got extremely lucky. My street in general doesn't seem bad compared to a lot of the stuff I've seen. The property management company said they'll get reports to us, but I don't know how long that will take since they obviously have a lot of properties to cover, and based off this video, mine might be low priority.

Edited since it won't seem to do the time. My house is around 6:15 - 6:20ish. It has a red SUVish vehicle parked diagonally in front of it.

I also just found this.

My house is the one with the slightly reddish L shaped roof on the north side of the road, next to the house with 3 white cars.

Glad it still sounds you have a house, and more importantly that your contacts sound like they are okay.

I'm conditioned to be worried when I hear Hurricanes hitting Panama City since my step-grandfather and his family lived there, but since his and his wife's passing I don't have to worry about them anymore.  Still worried about their other family members though.

That's some scary stuff. Makes me glad that the midwest has mild weather by comparison to hurricanes! Anyway, glad to hear your friends are okay and the house didn't wash away.
