Will have to give it a try before they take it out. Haven't done a SR game in awhile (I think last time was a few games with folks a few weeks back but that's it) but if I can just queue up as Thresh or Leona or someone, that'd be pretty awesome.

If my experience is any indication, queuing up for support Leona/Thresh in bot will be a nigh-instantaneous queue-time :).

Apparently TSM's own Bjergsen is currently streaming live? Trying to Solo-queue LoL and suffering from EUW server fail/outage or something like that.

*EDIT* Hahahaha! So, he decides to play Diablo 3 with his buddy while it's down. . . "What's your e-mail?"  "Just add me... add me it's - Bjergsen hashtag 2677".  *pause*...*realization*... "And I just said that on stream, but nevermind, just add me quickly."

Within 10 seconds he now has 21 new friend requests on D3 and the list keeps ballooning up. XD

Remember that "This is War:  Demacia vs Noxus" Video?

I present to you the somehow even better sequel - Piltover vs Vaun.

Hey, remember when Pantheon's ult used to be global? This is the range currently on PBE.

Now, granted, even the red who put them admits he's just going overboard to get a sense of what they're trying to accomplish and it is PBE. Here's the post on it. At least the cast time and what not was reduced and it does get larger as it's leveled but this is still kinda absurd.

Okay so NOW maybe Teambuilder is ACTUALLY out?

Seeing it in implementation I like that it allows for some flexibility on the currently meta enforced Top-Jungle-Mid-ADC-Support meta. At first I was kinda bummed to hear that there wasn't a ranked Team Builder queue, but their FAQ raises a good point that the whole pick/ban meta is an important part of the competitive scene and Team Builder kinda flies in the face of that by letting the player pick their champ in advance.

Oh hooray. I played a handful of games with the team builder during the live beta and really enjoyed it. I wanted to play some Thresh and I signed up and was in games in no time flat. Time from login to game was minimal and there was no champion pick bitch-fest. Glad to see it in permanently now!

So some pretty big things happened in EU LCS yesterday that have impacts on the whole LoL eSport.

Yesterday, Gambit gaming and SK Gaming faced off over first place in EU. Gambit took Aatrox for their top lane pick.  Gambit was winning the game by a slight lead but then a bug occurred: Aatrox's ability was healing him every 2 hits instead of every 3 hits like it was supposed to.  The game was paused by the players when they noticed the bug and reported it to the refs. The refs took note but what they were supposed to do from there was offer SK Gaming the option to force a remake of the game with the bug'd champ disabled.  The refs did not offer this to SK Gaming, so instead SK spent the rest of the game knowing they were up against a bug'd and OP Aatrox.

In response to this, Riot has done the following:

  1. Banned Aatrox from LCS play until further notice.
  2. Is voiding the result of SK vs Gambit yesterday and will be doing a rematch tonight.

This is the first time something like this has happened in the LCS so it is fascinating to see how they are handling it. Overall I'm pleased that Riot is basically accepting a 'My bad guys' here and offering this chance to SK to play again without having to go up against a buggy champ.  That's how I feel on paper.

In practice though, I feel like it wasn't just Aatrox that won the game for Gambit.  It was a factor sure, I'll even agree one you can't ignore, but they won other lanes as well and gained an advantage I feel they'd have with or without the OP champ top lane.  You can watch the game below and take your own assessment.

I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on this as well.

Riot's official statement on the ban and Remach.

2 videos below.  The first video of just the part of the match where SK figures out something is wrong and talks the refs.  The second video is the whole game.

Seems like they handled this appropriately. Refs dropped the ball a bit but I can't remember something like this happening any time recently so they probably weren't sure of the full procedures and being on the spot kinda tripped them up. Riot seems to have handled it correctly later and do a make up game.

At least this isn't like the WoW Arena tournament fiasco years ago where the refs decided to change tournament rules during the end game and give and then take away prizes.

What I find interesting about it is how it compares to a normal sport.  The closest thing I can think of would be a bad referee call that did not correctly read the rules of the game.  When stuff like that happens in football or hockey or basketball, they have to catch it and correct it before that match is over or else its said and done.  Case in point the 2001 Michigan @ Michigan State Football game in which there was controversy if MSU's quarter back spiked the ball fast enough to trigger an additional play to score the game winning points before the clock expired.  There are many who say after reviewing the replay that he didn't do it in time, but during the duration of the game the refs called it as fair and thus the points happened, and so for the rest of history, MSU won that game.

If you used that logic then yeah sucks for SK, its not fair, but the game went as called and so it happened.  Offering the a rematch is just not something that happens in sports.
