So, Robot Roller is currently going for $2.69 in the Humble Bundle.

Not really interested in it myself, but it's there. Also, Phantom Breaker:Battle Grounds ($1 tier) looks interesting. Certainly interesting enough to be worth throwing a half-hour at and that's exactly how much it'd need to be fun to be worth the price.

Stardust Vanguards looks like a fun "Play it twice" on the couch with a group. Again, $1 tier.

So yeah, if you wanted to try Disco Dodgeball out now's a good time to pick it up. I'm just going in for the $1 for now, but if there's people who want to throw down dodgeball style, I don't mind giving it a try at that pricepoint.

So this game is on the steam sale. The 4 pack is $6.24. The game looks like it could be fun.

IN CONCLUSION, I picked it up. I gave 1 to my SOGKEYSGE recipient, 1 to Adam who made this thread and happened to be on discord and said he would take one, and have 1 left for the first person to respond to this post. I would like to play it for a game night sometime soon.

My last copy has been given out to Stoof. Adam and I actually tried it out. The deathmatch mode is fun. We're less sure about the hoops and capture the "cube" mode, but I think we should all easily get a buck fiftyish worth of enjoyment out of it.

Agreed!

My personal gripe with the more objective based modes (except for hold the golden ball) is that because you need to already have a ball in order to defend in any way at all having to go find a ball while you're watching your foe run to the objective, unable to stop them, is excruciatingly frustrating.  This is worse in Capture the Cube mode because the normal rules of "you can't cap if the enemy has taken your cube" don't apply for some reason.

I find the core combat loop of "throw ball, go get ball, throw ball, try not to get hit" to be satisfying enough that I don't feel like the game needed those modes though.

Plus so long as Glenn gets $6 worth of amusement out of playing it with a few of us, win win.
