So.  Weed 5 Day 2.  At this point the half-split is over.  Everyone has played everyone once, so it is revenge time.

I was gonna share C9 v CLG as the "BFD Game of the day," as it was C9's chance to try and gain uncontested 3rd place, or CLG's chance to try and catch up to TSM.

I was going to share Team Impluse v Gravity for Impact's bitchin Solo Top Morgana. I may in fact still share those games.

But if you watch one game this week - Team Liquid vs TSM. Longest match in the split so far, and it gets really really intense at the end.

Last night the two highest ranked teams in China right now, OMG and Edward Gaming (EDG) met for the first time.  Many familiar names from worlds last year participate in this best of 3.  I've only watched game 1 so far but it is an intense match, I recommend it.

Sadly the LoLEsports YouTube channel doesn't break up their Korean or Chinese matches into individual videos like they do for NA/EU - but hey at least we get them at all and they're in english!  Game 1 is at about 2 hours and 21 minutes in if you want to watch some sick Mid-Nidalee vs Twisted Fate, Graves+Morgana vs Corki+Veigar action.

EDIT: Okay apparently I gave the wrong time because they were doing something to the video.  Picks and bans for the first game starts somewhere around 6hours and 39 minutes (last set of the day).

If you want a reason to watch game 2 of that set, how about Top-Lane Hecarum? That match starts at 7 hours 46 minutes.

My favorite games of LCS last week!

  • NUMBER 3: My favorite team from the EU, Unicorns of Love (the guys who busted out Poppy during their Challenger series) take the number 1 team in EU, SK Gaming.
  • NUMBER 2: After a disappointing loss to Team 8, Team Impluse finds themselves up against NA's #1 Team Solo Mid. Impluse has been seen as a team with a lot of talent that has yet to find their synergy, so surely their defeat by the region's top team is a sure deal right?  Right?
  • NUMBER 1: Team Liquid takes on Counter Logic Gaming. In this match, TL finds themselves battling for a chance to get past 4th place, where as a win for CLG would bring them back into a tie for first with TSM.  This game was a back and fourth battle between two team I consider evenly matched.

So.  Week 8, Day 1, of NA LCS had some interesting picks.

Then Team Gravity took out MID:URGOT against TSM.  With Bjersen on Zed?  ARE THEY INSANE?

The BF Game of the week was TSM vs CLG part 2.   TSM won the last time they met, but only just, so the question is can CLG get revenge or can TSM clean it up and win this time, especially after Saturday's loss to Gravity meant that, just like last time they met, winner would take 1st place in the league.

TBH though that game isn't as exciting as the match between Cloud9 and Team 8.  Cloud9 has a chance to tie 2nd place here, while Team 8 is scrambling to secure their place in the playoffs and not end up in the bottom 3 spots in the region.  Mistakes and solid fights on both sides, this one gets to be pretty back and forth after a point.

Guys? Seriously - the C9 vs T8 game is easily one of the most fun-to-watch games I've seen this season in terms of pure gameplay. League games tend to build to a tipping point where hte winning team pulls ahead and rides it out. This one each team felt like they were "ahead" equally or at part right to the very end.

That, and it's great to see Vlad in play and being "C9 has no way to deal with their Vlad".

I wouldn't dare spoil the ending for you guys. Let's just say - I didn't know superminions could be so red.

I learned last night that there was one more game from last week even crazier than that one.

EU LCS 2015.  Week 8, Day 2.  Unicorns of Love (8-7) vs FNATIC (11-4) at the time of this match.  FNATIC was EU #2, UoL sorta middle of the pack. That's not as important for this match.  What is important for this match is that you do not stop watching it early.  It doesn't end until a nexus blows up.  You won't believe the miracles (and misplays) at work here. To quote the casters "Did this match even have a laneing phase?"  Also you know, Top-Lane Yorrick.
